NRA Firearms Training and Instructor Certification
I am an NRA Training Counselor certified in CCW, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home and Refuse To Be A Victim. I am also an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and a Refuse To Be A Victim Regional Counselor. I offer Basic NRA Courses as well as NRA Instructor Certification. Private classes available - 4 student minimum.
Certified Range Safety Officer
Add more credibility and help your club reduce liability by participating in the NRA Range Safety Officer Program.
The Range Safety Officer (RSO) course consists of: Range Safety Officer's roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include emergency procedures. Candidates must receive 90 percent or better on the written exam and be 21 years of age or older. The Range Safety Officer course is a nine-hour course that consists of classroom time only. Basic Shotgun Shooting Course
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. This class is 10 hours long. Classroom consists of an introduction to Shotgun Safety, Parts, and Operation, Ammunition, the Fundamentals of Shotgun Shooting, Cleaning, Storage, and Training Opportunities. Live Fire Exercise consists of shooting at straight-away targets. Students will receive the NRA's Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook as well as course certificate.

Personal Protection Inside The Home (PPIH)
Prerequisite: Participants must produce a Basic Pistol Course Certificate or pass a pre-course assessment.
Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition and learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive The Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook and course completion certificate.

Basic Pistol Shooting Course
You will learn all the basics of revolvers and semi-autos:
-Essential gun safety rules
-Different types of pistols and which one is best for you
-The basics of ammunition
-The fundamentals of pistol shooting
-Different shooting positions
-The most common shooting errors
-Proper gun cleaning and maintenance
-How to maintain your skills
Includes Live-Fire Shooting Qualification on the range.
Course length: 8 hours
Basic Rifle Shooting Course
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. Course length: 8 hours
This 16-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Shooting courses. Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises. 
Description: Course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. (4 student minimum).

NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim® program teaches the tips and techniques you need to be alerted to dangerous situations and to avoid becoming a victim. The Refuse To Be A Victim® program is not a firearms or self-defense class. It’s a seminar that will help you improve personal safety strategies and will provide you with valuable information that you can apply in every area of your life. 
Refuse To Be A Victim Seminar (RTBAV)
Chief Range Safety Officer Certification
Prerequisite: Must be an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. This course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to training and supervising NRA range safety officers and developing range standard operating procedures. Course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer training. Sessions include standard operating procedures, inspections, emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, safety briefings. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises and complete an open book exam. (4 student minimum). Course length: 14 hours
Personal Protection Outside The Home (PPOH)
Prerequisite: Participants must produce an NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Certificate or pass a pre-course assessment. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition and learn the skills that must be mastered in order to carry, draw, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Time and ammunition requirements are minimum and may be exceeded. Students will receive The Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook and course completion certificate.
Level I course length: 8 hours
Level II course length: 6 hours
